What is Behavioural Optometry?

Behavioural Optometry is a holistic approach to vision care that strives to maximize a person’s visual efficiency. It is built on the premise that the visual process is a critical and pervasive aspect of human behaviour.

What does a Behavioural Optometrist do?

Your behavioural optometrist will provide an in-depth examination of visual abilities. This will include a comprehensive eye health examination & measurement of visual acuity or the ability to see clearly. Most importantly your behavioural optometrist will assess your binocular vision (or ability to use the two eyes) looking at focusing skills, eye coordination & eye movement control. The examination also evaluates the individual’s skill in utilising the visual system to develop spatial judgments (know where things are) & process visual information (understand what you see).
